What to do when you leave your puppy at home alone

Although it sounds odd, your puppy will feel safe if you place them in a kennel or cage while you are away from the house.  They may cry at first as they get use to it, but give it a few days and you'll see.  Allowing a puppy "roam free" in your house when you are not their to supervise, is like allowing them to wonder in a very unsafe place filled with temptations that could get them injured.

Besure to choose a cage/kennel that gives them plenty of room. Below is a list of items to have in the cage/kennel with your pet:

Soft blanket or bedding

One or Two toys

Water and food dishes (chose ones that you can attach to the cage side or door, to prevent spilling)

Remember that if you are gone for multiple hours, you may need to change out the bedding due to "potty accidents".

As soon as you return to the house, take your pet outside to relieve himself.
